Accessibility facilities for rail travel in Europe

Eurail and BritRail trains both provide accessibility for disabled people. There is normally a space in the trains (up to 670mm 26.38in wide) for wheelchairs. A special table, allowing for wheelchair maneuvers, or a tricket shelf is fitted. These spaces need reservations, but are normally no extra charge.

Right now all BritRail trains have these features and trains in Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland all provide disabled access.
Eurostar Trains

Provision has been made for disabled people to travel on board international trains. There are positions for two wheelchair users per train in the first-class, non-smoking coaches. A special rate applies, not the full first-class fare. In the area designated for wheel chair users, there is room for the passenger's own wheelchair, which the passenger may continue to use for the entire journey. There are two seats in this area to accommodate both a wheelchair user and a traveling companion. Passengers in wheelchairs may access the toilet facilities by means of their own wheelchair.
